Structural Principle
The enclosure shell is usually made of airtight metal material with a thickness of 2–3 mm, such as steel plate, and a damping layer is applied to avoid coincidence effect and low-frequency resonance. For high-demand applications, a double-layer shell can be adopted with an interlayer spacing of 6–10 cm. The cavity is filled with porous sound-absorbing material, and additional sound-absorbing material is attached to the inner side of the enclosure. To ensure the normal heat dissipation of the equipment, ventilation openings are reserved on the sound insulation enclosure, and mufflers or noise-eliminating shutters are installed at the openings.
Design Key Points
Priority materials include double-layer steel plate with sound-absorbing cotton or flame-retardant sound insulation board, with a thickness of ≥2 mm and a sound insulation capacity of ≥25 decibels. The size should be 10–15 cm larger than that of the external unit. Rubber vibration-damping pads should be installed at the bottom or contact points to avoid rigid connection, and independent ventilation openings and access openings should be reserved.
Noise Reduction Effect
The noise reduction capacity of a general ventilation and heat dissipation type sound insulation enclosure can reach 15–25 dB.
